Fishing flies for Campeche....Fly assortment kits for Campeche are based on choices geared to fishing for baby tarpon in shallow water. Many thanks to everyone who helped us put together this incredible Baby Tarpon Kit, especially Alejandro the owner at Campeche Tarpon and master tyer Eduardo who kindly sent us a photo of his entire fly box. Campeche and all of the lodges on the west side of the Yucatan are primarily baby tarpon fisheries. There are a few larger fish occasionally on the outside flats but most shots will be to early morning rolling fish in very shallow water. Your Campeche fly kit will cover baby tarpon fishing just about anywhere from the canals of Miami, west coast of Florida down to Costa Rica. The poppers and gurglers will take any species that eat off of the surface and the new wiggle minnow catches just about everything. Try the white tail toad for tarpon feeding under mangroves where you see bird droppings on the trees!
