Kites

Kite fishing is commonly used in kingfishing. Using a fishing kite, live baits (usually blue runners) are dangled on the surface of the water creating a wounded bait presentation for predatory fish.

The wind conditions will dictate wich wise kite you will need to use. On calm days, balloons filled with helium can be used to elevate kites. You will also need a conventional reel, a short and stout rod, barrel swivels, and a kite release clip for a full kite fishing setup.

Kite fishing can be a tedious method but adds a fun and effective challenge to kingfishing.
